A passport is a travel document. To be eligible for an Italian passport, you must be an Italian citizen, and you must confirm your identity.
IMPORTANT: Some countries may require a passport validity of 6 months prior to entering the country. Therefore, we advise you to check the Viaggiare Sicuri website of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for entry requirements to any country you are planning to visit.
To obtain your passport, you need to:
- Book an appointment online via the automatic booking system Prenot@mi;
- Complete the passport application form and check the mandatory checklist for your appointment;
- Confirm the appointment on the Prenot@mi portal.

- 10 days prior to the scheduled appointment, you will receive an email asking to confirm your appointment;
- Confirm your appointment at least 3 days before;
- If the appointment is not confirmed, it will be automatically cancelled by the system.
IMPORTANT: All passport applicants must attend the appointment in person (infants included).
