New visit to Melbourne of Ambassador Paolo Crudele, accompanied by Consul General Hanna Pappalardo.

Main highlights:

– Inauguration of “Leonardo Da Vinci. 500 Years of Genius”, an experience entirely devoted to celebrating the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci presenting orginal artefacts by Leonardo Da Vinci, including some pages of the world famous Codex Atlanticus, in a multisensory digital immersive setting, with the institutional support of the Consulate General of Italy in Melbourne, Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana and the Leonardo Da Vinci Museum in Milan;

– Meetings with institutional counterparts in the Victorian Government with a focus on the teaching of Italian language and aged care assistance, two issue of great concern for the Italianc ommunity in Victoria. Main deliverable: agreement to set up a joint working group aimed at renewing the MoU with the Victorian Department of Education on the promotion of Italian language and culture in Victoria, including addressing criticalities of relevance forr the teaching of the Italian language (recognition of professional qualifications etc);

– Meeting with a selection of MPs members of the Group of Friends of Italy in the Victorian Parliament on issues of common concern.
