On behalf of Ambassador Paolo Crudele, Consul General Hanna Pappalardo awarded the Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic to Elisabetta Barberio, Professor at the University of Melbourne’s School of Physics and Director of the ARC Center of Excellence for Dark Matter and Particle Physics.
Professor Barberio received this honor for her prestigious international career and her outstanding contribution to the study of dark matter particle physics, for promoting scientific collaboration between Italy and Australia, and for her role in supporting female participation in STEM.
