Consul General Hanna Pappalardo awarded Professor John Hajek, Acting Head of School, School of Languages and Linguistics, University of Melbourne, with the distinction of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy.
The ceremony was attended by Professor Lesley Stirling, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Melbourne, many distinguished University leaders, scholars, teachers, members of the Victorian Education institutions and of the Italian community.
Great opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding accomplishments by Professor Hajek in teaching and learning of the Italian language in Victoria while reaffirming the shared commitment to promoting the Italian language and culture in Australia.
