The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has established three awards aimed at Italian and foreign researchers and innovators who have distinguished themselves in the promotion of science and technology and in the promotion of international cooperation.
The Embassy of Italy in Canberra and the Consulate Generale of Italy in Melbourne call for Applications for the following awards:
1) Farnesina Award – Italian Bilater Scientific Cooperation Award
The award, now in its sixth edition, is addressed to 35 years old or younger Italian researchers, with 3 to 7 years of post-doctoral experience, who have distinguished themselves abroad, and specifically in Australia, for the excellence of their results and the ability to promote bilateral cooperation between Italy and Australia in science and technology.
2) Innovation that speaks Italian
The award, now in its sixth edition, is a recognition of technological start-ups of high innovative value operating abroad, and specifically in Australia, and founded by Italian citizens who trained in Italy and who have built their business thanks to their scientific and technological skills. Particular attention will be paid to the impact that the start-up has had or could have on Italy’s socioeconomic growth.
The award, in its second edition, will be awarded to a foreign woman scientist under 40 years old, operating in the Asia and Pacific region, who has distinguished herself in the promotion of bilateral scientific cooperation between Italy and the geographical region in which they operated, specifically in Australia. Emphasis will be given to ongoing collaborations, the promotion of exchange programs with Italy, the collaboration with the community of Italian researchers operating specifically in Australia and the potential for developing long-term institutional collaborations.
The awards ceremony will take place in Italy, during the annual scientific staff conference. All the costs for the participation will be covered by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
