Commemoration of the “Day of the Sacrifice of the Italian Labour Abroad”

Today, like every year, we commemorate the “Day of the Sacrifice of the Italian Labour Abroad” to acknowledge the sacrifices by Italian labourers abroad.

The commemoration takes place on the occasion of the mining disaster occured at the Bois du Cazier coal mine at Marcinelle, Belgium, in 1956, where 262 miners lost their lives. 136 were Italians.
