Alighieri

Consul General Hanna Pappalardo attended the celebrations of the 127th anniversary of the foundation of the Melbourne branch of the Dante Alighieri Society, the oldest in an English speaking country.

The focus of the celebrations has been on the signature of a Memorandum on the Cooperation with Co.As.It Melbourne and the reinforcement of the links with the Italian-Australian Foundation.

While highlighting the importance of the Melbourne branch of the Dante Alighieri Society as an indispensable partner in the promotion of the Italian language and culture in Victoria, the Consul General recalled that 2024 will be the Year of the Italian Roots, a unique opportunity to develop initiatives aimed at reconnecting Italians abroad with their familiy history in Italy and their territories of origin.
