Italian nationals missing abroad

This Consulate General is not allowed to release personal information to relatives or friends without the prior consent of the parties concerned.

Once the missing person has been located, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must obtain that person’s consent before informing relatives and friends.

In certain countries, including Australia, the local law on Personal Data does not allow the release of personal information within Australia. Applications will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
