Long stay Italy’s National visa (91 to 365 days)

Visas of this category allow holders to stay in Italy from 91 to 365 days only for purposes of study, work or permanent residency. Throughout the duration of the visa, holders may also spend up to 90 days, in each 6-month period, in any other Schengen country for tourism purposes only.

WORKING HOLIDAY VISA

A visa for Australian citizens only aged 18 - 30 that allows holders to travel in Italy for longer than 90 days with the option to work

 

RESIDENCY VISA (“residenza elettiva”)

A visa that allows holders to enter in Italy in order to settle permanently in the Country

 

LONG - STAY STUDENT VISA

A visa for applicants wishing to study in Italy for longer than 90 days

RESIDENCE PERMIT FOR ITALY'S NATIONAL VISA HOLDERS

Within 8 days from entering Italy, long stay National visa-holders must apply for a residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) from the local Police Station (Questura). You can click here for more information.

 

Please note: If you are older than 30 and cannot apply for a Working Holiday Visa, you will not be able to stay in Italy for tourism purposes for more than 90 days.
