Collect lost passports that have been found and sent to the Consulate General by the local Authorities

Passports that are lost or stolen abroad and subsequently found by the local Authorities, are returned to the Consular office in whose district the loss or theft occurred.

If your passport has recently been lost or stolen in this Consular district, please contact the Consulate General via email to enquire whether your passport has been handed in.

Possible ways to collect your passport are as follows:

  • Direct collection at the Consulate General
  • Collection by a third party who needs to be formally authorised by the passport holder
  • Have it sent by post, with delivery charges to be paid by the applicant

Please note: After one year from the date that the passport was handed over to the Consulate General, with no claim by the owner, the passport will be destroyed without further notice.
