This Consulate General accepts applications for visas only from Victorian or Tasmanian residents.
There are only two categories of visas processed at this Consulate:
(to stay from 1 to 90 days in the Schengen area)
LONG - TERM ITALY'S NATIONAL VISA
(To stay from 91 to 365 days in Italy)
Australian citizens are allowed to visit any of the Schengen countries without a visa for a period of up to 90 days in each 6-month period for purposes of tourism or study.
EU citizens will not require a visa to enter, stay and/or work in any of the Schengen countries.
Please note: This Consulate reserves the right to reject visa applications. In order to obtain any visa type you will need to fulfil specific requirements outlined in the relevant pages of our website.
Europe is not a Federal entity. Each Member State of the EU has its own rules on visa and residency. There is no such visa that allows applicants to stay in the Schengen area for longer than 90 days. Long-stay visas can only be obtained from one specific country and allow holders to stay for more than 90 days only in the country issuing the visa.
